Indian Summer and some Guerlain goodies

They say anticipation is sometimes better than the actual event.

I find that to be especially true regarding anything weather dependent. How many times have you looked forward to summer barbecues outside and ended up inside because of hail and storm? How many times have you dreamt about snow ball fights in a winter wonderland only to shuffle through muddy pools in constant rain?

I know I have been disappointed numerous times, so when Flanconi (an online beauty store) reached out to me and asked for an Indian summer look, I decided to take matters into my own hands. It may be wet and cold outside, but here on the blog we´ll have all the gold and orange we long for.

And what can I say, after I finished filming the sun decided to make an appearance and I was able to actually shoot outdoors! I am not going to jinx it, but if we get a prolonged period of beautiful weather here in Germany now, I will claim magical makeup skills.

If not, this Indian Summer look will see me through the disappointment.

To get the true Indian Summer feeling, I do recommend you watch the video on You Tube and in HD.

Out of the products I used in this video, two will get a short review here. I received both from Flanconi to create the look above.

Guerlain Météorites Pearls in “Medium” *(45,95 € here)

Anyone remotely interested in beauty has heard about these pearls. First released in 1987, the small “meteorites” come in different colors, designed to blend into a color correcting and blurring finishing powder. Now the price is pretty steep, but the effect is undeniably beautiful. Pores and fine lines appear less obvious and I just look overall fresh and healthy without any shine or glitter. Only the violet scent, apparently part of the hype surrounding the product, is way too strong for my liking.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Matte lipstick in “Crazy Nude”* (31,95 € here)

After my success with the Kiss Kiss lipsticks from the summer collection (here), picking one of the new matte releases was a must. Crazy nude is a rosewood shade, very pigmented and opaque with one swipe. The finish is not completely matte, I can notice a hint of sheen after application, but the staying power is amazing. Only a full meal (pizza, pizza!) will make it vanish completely, snacking and drinking are no problem. Make sure to have a lip balm at hand at the end of the day though, the hydrating claims are not true from my experience.

Oh, and the pepperoni-extract meant to plump the lips? I don´t notice anything, which is great because I really dislike most lip plumping products.

I received some of the products in exchange for an Indian Summer look from Flanconi. All PR-Samples are marked with an * and all opinions are honest and my own.
